Overview
The Tomei head gasket for the Toyota 2JZ-GTE is a multi-layer stainless steel (MLS) gasket at 87.5mm bore and 1.2mm thickness. Its layered stainless construction, with a unique rubber coating on the top and bottom layers and engine-specific stopper beads, seals the combustion, water and oil passages against the extreme heat and cylinder pressure of a boosted 2JZ.
Built for high-power, forced-induction 2JZ-GTE builds where the factory gasket lifts or fails under boost. The 1.2mm is the thinnest option in Tomei's 87.5mm 2JZ range, keeping compression high; thicker 1.5 / 1.8 / 2.0mm versions lower compression for higher-boost setups.
